Jeff Crow

Jeff Crow is president, and principal consultant, of Crow Development
Corporation, parent company of ProjectTraining.com. From its Portland, Oregon
headquarters, Crow Development serves clients throughout the world. Jeff’s
practice is focused on assisting organizations undergoing significant change,
either self-imposed or brought about by changes in the organization's
environment, with a strong emphasis on project management and process
effectiveness. Jeff has over 40 years experience in business, with the last 21
years in management consulting on organizational development and training.
His clients range from small, family-owned enterprises to multi-national
corporations, government, and non-profit organizations. He and his associates
provide consulting services and customized training in project management,
process improvement, organizational effectiveness and team building as well as
client-specific services to individual clients and organizations.

Jeff is the developer of an innovative project management methodology and
author of
Applying Project Management in the Workplace, currently in its fourth
edition. The book is being used as the textbook for project management classes
in several colleges and universities across the country. His training programs in
project management, process analysis and design, and team building are
dynamic and highly interactive. They focus on providing practical tools and
techniques, and hands-on experience in a real-world setting.

In addition to his consulting and training practice, Jeff teaches a number of
courses, seminars and workshops for Portland-area colleges and universities.
He is the faculty advisor and an instructor for the Project Management Certificate
Program at Portland State University's Professional Development Center.

Joan Barton

Joan’s extensive expertise in coaching, mentoring, and training extends our
capabilities to provide our clients with integrated solutions that encompass all
aspects of their initiatives in project management, process improvement, and
organizational change. In addition, Joan’s membership on our team allows us to
offer additional independent services to our new and existing clients.

She has over 19 years experience teaching and training adults in academic
settings and in both public and private workplaces. Her professional background
includes extensive work in organizations with management and leadership
involving Internal Consulting, Organizational Development Planning, Executive
Coaching and Leadership Training. With employees and staff, Joan has
conducted numerous programs in Team Development, Workplace Conflict
Management and Mediation, Change Management, and Project Management.  
She is an experienced program designer, curriculum developer, and
instructor/trainer.

Joan’s academic work is in the areas of human services, leadership,
organizational development and change management and adult education.

Mike Rowney

Mike has over 30 years of business experience, with the last 20 years devoted to
formulating and implementing strategies to achieve world-class
competitiveness, first as an internal change agent and then as an external
consultant. Areas of focus in both manufacturing and service include: Customer
Orientation and Customer Satisfaction; New Product/Service Development;
Process Control and Capability; Process Improvement; Process Reengineering;
Benchmarking; Lean Enterprise (meeting the customers’ needs with a minimum
of resources); Team Processes; Problem Solving; Strategic Planning; Deploying
Strategy.

He was director of productivity and technology for Omark Industries, Portland, OR
(now part of Blount Inc.), responsible for guiding and resourcing new product and
new business development corporate-wide. While continuing to perform this
role, he coordinated the planning and implementation of one of North America’s
first full scale efforts in Lean Manufacturing, Total Quality Management, and
Employee Involvement under the leadership of the President, Jack Warne.
References to this initiative appear in many books and articles. As a result, he
was recruited to perform a similar role for the largest division of the
Weyerhaeuser Paper Company.

In preparation for his consulting career, Mike gained broad management
experience, holding managerial positions in production, R&D, strategic planning,
marketing, and new business development.

He holds a BSc (Hons) degree from the University of Birmingham (UK), a Master’
s from the University of Toronto, and a Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering from
Illinois Institute of Technology. He speaks German and French, and has
consulted and taught in those languages. He has been trained as a Lead
Assessor for the ISO 9000 quality standard.

At The Deltapoint Corporation, Mike consulted for eight years in the planning and
implementation of strategies for world-class competitiveness to: Alberta Power,
Boeing, numerous Boeing suppliers both in North America and Europe, Vitro
(Mexico), SmithKline Beecham (UK and USA), Burlington Northern Railroad,
Nabisco, Public Service Company of North Carolina, Britax Rumbold (UK), and
Fairchild Fasteners. Much of his recent work has been focused on helping
companies bring about rapid change successfully.

Mike has participated in three benchmarking study missions to Japan, and has
co-led benchmarking studies in North America for Alberta Power and Vitro.

Prior to joining Deltapoint in 1992, Mike spent two years as a senior consultant in
TQM with Luftig and Warren, a leading quality consultant. He provided guidance
in the implementation of principles and practices for improving competitiveness
for major units of Fortune 500 companies, such as Alcoa, Anheuser Busch and
Chiquita, both in the U.S. and Europe.

Mike currently has his own consulting practice, and also collaborates with Crow
Development and several other skilled and experienced independent
consultants to provide clients with support in virtually every aspect of business
competitiveness and organizational excellence.

Recent clients include The World Bank, the University of Dayton Center for
Competitive Change, Formetal (Belgium). Mike was the co-leader of the very
successful major consulting engagement with Timberline Software, which
resulted in significant improvements in quality, productivity, schedule adherence,
and customer satisfaction.
